Creative Writing

I’ve always had an interest in creative writing, but it was never something I pursued as a career. Though, I’ve wanted to. It was always just a dream–a far distant dream, somehow always deemed myself unworthy of achieving until now. I’ve been writing my first novel for more than 15 years, often re-writing as my voice changed as I grew older. I’m serious about it, more than I’ve ever been in all my years. I’ve struggled with my identity and my purpose a lot over the course of my lifetime and I feel like, recently, I’ve finally settled. I know who I am. I know what I want. I know I can do this. The dream is to be a published author, so in the meantime, before this switches to PUBLISHED BOOKS, it’ll remain as creative writing.

As of December 18, 2022, at 105K+ words, my very first [very rough] draft is complete!!!

I may not be ready to share a full description of my novel yet, so I hope this vague one will suffice: My wip is a YA fantasy involving a time jump, a mysterious disappearance, and a magical realm. GALLANT by V.E. Schwab X CHRONICLES OF NARNIA

I’m a gardener a.k.a pantser, the type of writer that lets the words flow with little to no planning ahead of time. Sometimes the words pour out of me. Sometimes, more often than I’d like, my creative tank is all dried up. Sometimes I know what happens and sometimes I don’t–which to me–makes writing a little more satisfying . . . and downright surprising.
