Nothing but sweetness all around for this new Netflix original. I’m in love. And I can binge watch all kinds of movies and TV series, but this one, “OH, LORD”, I LOVE this one!
I’m not gonna lie, when I first saw the trailer for this, I rolled my eyes, oh gosh, why does it have to be a series? Why can’t this just be a movie? You know how some TV shows just drag on and really could just be a movie? Well, I thought wrong and I was more than happy to sit through 10 blissful episodes watching each character’s story unfold. It was beautiful. The writers did remarkable with the script. The cast were absolutely amazing. Congrats to everyone involved in making such a beautiful story, down to the very production crew. And major shout out to the production crew for casting an incredible ensemble.
I’m a little worried though, will Netflix renew for a season 2? I mean, they HAVE TO, right? THEY HAVE TO! Sweet Magnolias ended on such a cliffhanger, I had all the feels, tears flowing, my heart breaking, and everything. SPOILER: Who’s in the passenger seat?!? Is “he” gonna survive? Is someone going to die?
But seriously, I’m a little worried because of this pandemic more than if Netflix will renew – I’m pretty sure they’ll renew – but this pandemic is hurting so many careers that I’m nervous how will production continue, what would that look like for the crew and the cast in this Southern belle?
<p value="<amp-fit-text layout="fixed-height" min-font-size="6" max-font-size="72" height="80">I simply adore the cast who play their respective roles. This Southern belle is heartwarmingly witty and charming, as all Southern small towns are. I loved every second of this show and cannot wait for Season 2 to finally come. It may just take a hot minute before production can even move forward on the project. I guess, I don't mind waiting, just as long as a Season 2 is underway. This show leaves you cheering for all the characters, even the most disliked characters have some redeeming qualities. It’s a feel good show that fills your heart with such warmth for every story line. I said it before and I’ll say it again, this is a beautifully well written story that deserves to bask in the sun. Hands down, one of the best series I’ve seen while in lock down.
If you haven’t seen it yet, make sure it’s on the top of your list first thing when you log into Netflix. I’m pretty sure you’re gonna love this series as many people are already raving about it. And believe me, I haven’t raved much on shows I’ve watched and I watch a lot, and I mean A LOT, maybe a little too much TV to rave about anything, but this show hit me to the core and it’s just too good not to share.
Watch it, get back to me, and tell me just how much you love it too.
Spoilers: For those of you who have seen it, comment which couple you’re cheering on for most. Is it Maddie & Cal? Helen & Erik? Ty & Annie? Dana Sue & Ronnie or that new Jeremy hottie? Ugh – mine is Helen & Erik – they are destined since the very beginning of this show, forget Ryan, Erik, Erik, Erik!
